Did that subject line look familiar? It should. This is the third year in a row that the tobacco industry is threatening Washingtonâ€™s popular clean indoor air law.

Please help us fight back to ensure that our statewide clean indoor air law stays intact.Â

Call your legislators!

This one is easy. Grab your phone and dial the WA Legislative Hotline at 1-800-562-6000. Don't know your legislators' names? No problem. They'll look it up for you using your address.

Leave a message for your legislators that you oppose the tobacco industryâ€™s weakening of the clean indoor air law!Â Tell the operator you want your legislators to vote NO on Senate Bill 5070 & House Bill 1750.

The House Committee on Business & Financial Services will hear the bill on Thursday, February 14 at 10:00a.m. Whether you come to testify or simply observe, your presence sends a powerful message to the tobacco industry that Washingtonians want to keep their air clean!

What's the big deal?

The tobacco industryâ€™s Senate Bill 5070/House Bill 1750 would weaken our law by carving out exceptions, allowing select workplaces to have cigar, pipe and hookah smoking inside. This would expose employees to dangerous secondhand smoke and put them at risk for devastating health effects, including heart disease.

Our smokefree law was approved by voters back in 2005. This law prohibits smoking in all indoor public places and workplaces. There is no need to turn back now.Â No workers should be left to inhale secondhand smoke at work. Please help us keep this law strong and fair.
