This bill repeals preemption and allows for local smokefree ordinances. The bill also amends the Clean Indoor Air Act to eliminate the exemptions for bars, gaming facilities, full-service truck stops, long-term care facilities, smoking rooms in residential care facilities and day treatment facilities, private clubs, charitable fundraisers, and venues hosting tobacco product promotion events.

EXEMPTIONS: Smoking will continue to be allowed in private residences except when used as child/adult day care facilities; 25% of hotel/motel rooms; cigar bars; tobacco shops; tobacco manufacturers & wholesalers, designated outdoor smoking area in a sports or recreational facility, theater or performance establishment.
