HB656 - (referendum for workplaces, restaurants, bars and gaming) - An Act to prohibit smoking in public places and in places of employment - Died in Committee
This bill prohibits smoking in enclosed public places and places of employment, and within 20 feet of entrances. The bill does use the words restaurant, bar, or gaming facility, but implies that they are covered. Unfortunately the bill also requires that a statewide special election be held in 2014 asking if the contents of this bill should be enacted.
EXEMPTIONS: Smoking is allowed in private residences except when used as a facility licensed by the Department of Health or as a business with non-family employees; private clubs with no employees; and Native American religious ceremonies.
