Take action to support a Smokefree Alaska!

Alaska residents:

This is the year! Statewide Smokefree Alaska’s Senate Bill 1 – the Take it Outside bill – is gearing up to become a reality. 

ANR and Smokefree Alaska's campaign team will be in touch with ways to get more involved, but now is the time to tell everyone you know to contact their state Senator and Representative. This is the time to ask them to support SB1 for smokefree workplaces for all workers in Alaska!

It’s Easy! Everyone can show their support in three different ways:

1. Send an email today! Click here to find your district legislator. Then send him or her an email using this simple method: Sen.FirstName.LastName@akleg.gov or Rep.FirstName.LastName@akleg.gov For example: Senator Pete Kelly’s email is Sen.Pete.Kelly@akleg.gov and and Representative Cathy Muñoz can be reached at Rep.Cathy.Munoz@akleg.gov

2. Call your legislator directly! Click here to find your legislator's phone number. Easy Peasy.

3. Meet your legislator in person at one of their public meetings.

Let your Senator and Representatives know why you personally support smokefree workplaces for every worker in Alaska.  Smoking rooms and ventilation systems do not address the health hazards of secondhand smoke. Bar staff have to breathe at work just like everyone else. It’s time for the Alaska legislature to protect every worker with smokefree workplaces.
