Study Says Alaskans Strongly Desire Smoke-free Workplaces

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network released statistics on a poll showing the number of Alaskans that would like to see the state's workplaces become smoke-free.

The poll shows that 88% of Alaskans believe all Alaska workers should be protected from exposure to secondhand smoke in the workplace.

69% favor passage of a law prohibiting smoking in workplaces, public buildings, offices, restaurants and bars.

The Alaska Legislature is currently considering Senate Bill 1, the "Take it Outside Act", which would protect all Alaskan workers from secondhand smoke and e-cigarette aerosol in an indoor workplace...
