HB0009—(college campuses)—An Act relative to smoking on campuses of public institutions of higher education—Companion bill signed by Governor

This weak bill allows the administrative head of public higher education institutions to adopt a policy to limit smoking on campus to designated smoking locations, and administration is "encouraged to provide for reasonable smoke-free zones at all building entrances." The bill also prohibits smoking in all buildings owned or operated by the state except for those sleeping rooms in state park inns.
