SB140 Clean Indoor Air Act of 2004 (DIED)
This bill prohibits people from smoking in indoor areas open to the public, indoor places where meetings are open to the public, means of mass transportation, and indoor places of employment. Additionally, Frederick County may enact laws at least as strong as this state law to regulate tobacco products in state-owned/controlled buildings. Washington County may enact laws at least as strong as this state law to regulate tobacco products in county offices.

EXEMPTIONS: Private homes exempt when used for child daycare; 25% of hotel/motel rooms; areas used for theatrical, musical, or film productions when smoking is part of the performance; facilities for the treatment of mental disorders; health facilities where the average patient stay is over 30 days; and at health facilities when authorized by a physician as a part of a patient's treatment.
