HB1177-(restaurants)-A Bill prohibiting smoking in restaurants and cocktail lounges-Defeated in Senate

This bill amends the current state law to make restaurants smokefree by removing the exemptions for restaurants and cocktail lounges, defined as bar areas of restaurants. Smoking is also prohibited in private clubs when open to the public. Enclosed smoking areas are still allowed in workplaces, but workplaces must be smokefree if smoke cannot be “effectively segregated” in the smoking areas.
