Health concerns were front and center for the Vigo County Board of Health Wednesday night. Board members want to ban indoor smoking in Indiana. The board passed a resolution in support of a "Clean Indoor Air Ordinance" to put pressure on lawmakers at the Statehouse to adopt a state-wide-ban on indoor smoking. Board members cited figures showing tobacco kills almost 30 people a day in Indiana, and health care costs from smoking total $1.6 billion dollars a year. Hayes says people from Vigo County will head to the Statehouse to plea their case for the smoking ban.
