LETTER: Stop smoking in restaurants

Publication Date: 2005-02-10
  • Author:Brandon Jenkins

As we know, a healthy Arkansas is a better Arkansas. This can be done by making Arkansas restaurants smoke free. By taking this step you would be making the lives of millions of people safe from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke...

Is it too much to ask to be able to sit down and enjoy your meal for one hour without being exposed to unwanted secondhand smoke? Surely smokers can refrain from smoking for such a limited time and not feel that they are being deprived of their rights. Nonsmokers have the right to eat in a smoke-free environment.

By making Arkansas restaurants smoke free, it would be a step in the right direction for a healthier and better Arkansas.
