COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Health advocates in Ohio have launched a petition campaign for a statewide smoking ban.

Supporters want a comprehensive statewide ban similar to the one in Columbus, which prohibits smoking in public places and in most workplaces, including bars and restaurants.

Organizers -- confident in their local polls that show strong support for a ban -- said they plan to collect 100,000 signatures to present to the Legislature in January.
