A bill that would ban indoor smoking in workplaces statewide was introduced in the Senate on Tuesday despite concern that it might not have enough support to pass.

So far, all 17 Republicans are opposed to the measure, as is at least one of 18 Democrats...

The measure did gain the support of the Denver City Council on Tuesday night, which voted 10-1 for a resolution in support of measure.

"A lot of us believe the time has come to protect employees and customers in restaurants and bars from the dangers of secondhand smoke," said Councilwoman Kathleen MacKenzie.
