Senate committee to consider expanding smoking ban

A Senate committee is expected to hear legislation today that would permanently extend a smoking ban to small bars and private clubs.

Those establishment enjoy exemptions from the ban under the current smoking law. But a judge has temporarily extended it to cover those bars and clubs as well while he considers a lawsuit challenging the exemptions.
