It is heartening to see states such as Montana and North Dakota now protecting workers from cancer-causing secondhand smoke. Eight states now protect workers, patrons and children from the devastating effects of arsenic, benzene and other cancer-causing chemicals present in secondhand tobacco smoke.
Washington voters should act quickly to protect workers from these chemicals just as it has protected them from asbestos dust.
