It turns out that through a loophole in Colorado's no-smoking law, casino employees can demand a smoke-free workplace.

The legislators who wrote the law thought they had exempted casinos.

But the law also says:

"Each such employer shall provide a smoke-free work area for each employee requesting not to have to breathe environmental tobacco smoke. Every employee shall have a right to work in an area free of environmental tobacco smoke."

Rep. Jim Sullivan, R-Larkspur, who led the fight to exempt casinos, said he had no clue that section of the law existed.
