This bill will make some workplaces smokefree. This is a weak bill that is also preemptive. Smoking is allowed in separately enclosed bar areas in restaurants and freestanding bars.

EXEMPTIONS: Smoking is allowed in bars, separately enclosed bar areas in restaurants, cigar bars, private clubs, meeting and private function rooms in restaurants/hotels; Private residences, except when used as a licensed child care facility; Hotel and motel rooms; Retail tobacco and convenience stores; Any facility licensed by the Mississippi Gaming Commission; public schools and campuses already regulated by state law; Outdoor areas of employment; All workplaces of any manufacturer, importer or wholesaler of tobacco products, of any tobacco leaf dealer or processor, and all tobacco storage facilities.
