SB2573 - (some workplaces) - An Act To Create The Mississippi Gulf Coast Smoke-Free Families Act - Died

This bill regulates smoking in six gulf coast counties in Mississippi. Smoking is prohibited in workplaces with more than five employees and restaurants. Workplaces with fewer than five employees can have separately enclosed and ventilated smoking rooms.

EXEMPTIONS: The smoking regulations only apply to six counties in the state. Smoking is allowed in ventilated break rooms of workplaces with five or fewer employees; bars; private residences except when used as licensed child care facilities; hotel/motel rooms; retail tobacco stores; restaurants/conference rooms/assembly rooms when used for private functions; facilities licensed by the state Gaming Commission; and school campuses.
