HF305 - (restaurants and bars) - Freedom to Breathe Act of 2007 - Companion to SF238

This bill prohibits smoking in all enclosed public places, including restaurants and bars, and places of employment with two or more employees. Amended to allow local governments to issue smoking licenses to bars, as well as bar areas of restaurants that are separately ventilated. Also amended to change the effective date for bars and restaurants to January 1, 2009.

EXEMPTIONS: Smoking is allowed in places of employment with only one employee; during specified scientific studies; as part of Native American traditional ceremonies; in private homes; hotel/motel rooms; and tobacco products shops.
