Not wanting to get caught up in what some might call political correctness, the city of Glendo has done an about-face.

No, it will not join Laramie or Cheyenne as smoke-free cities. In fact, the city fathers are taking the opposite tack, the Platte County Record-Times reported in its March 14 edition.

The town of Glendo has passed an ordinance that bans the practice of banning smoking in public buildings, town clerk Brenda Hagen told the paper.

"We feel a smoke-free ordinance should be up to the owners," Hagen said.
