This bill prohibits smoking in all enclosed public places and places of employment, including restaurants & bars. The bill retains the anti-preemption clause in the current state law. The bill was amended in the Senate Public Health Committee to extend the implementation date for restaurants and bars to 1/1/2010.

EXEMPTIONS: Smoking is allowed in private residences, rooms in retirement homes where all residents in the room have requested in writing to live in a smoking room, and hotel/motel rooms.
