Health group criticizes House version of smoking ban

A group of health care organization representatives and government officials plan to announce concerns of a House bill for a smoking ban in bars and restaurants.

The group claims the bill, which could reach the House floor for a vote this week, includes loopholes that would allow some bars and restaurants to have smoking sections or be exempt from the smoking ban on a case-by-case basis. Those establishments would apply for exemption with their local government offices.
