Four amendments were introduced to this bill to amend the Smoke Free Illinois Act to create an exemption to allow smoking in riverboat casinos. Amendment No. 5 DIED, which would have exempted riverboat gaming for five years. Amendments No. 1 and 2, if adopted, would allow smoking in riverboat casinos located within 10 miles and 5 miles, respectively, of the Illinois border for five years or until the bordering state goes smokefree in casinos, whichever comes first. Amendment 6 would allow smoking in riverboat casinos located within 5 miles of the Illinois border for five years or until the bordering state goes smokefree in casinos, whichever comes first.
