Legislative Summary

SB195 - (cigar bar exemption) - A bill to allow smoking in cigar bars and in outdoor seating areas of restaurants - Session Adjourned

This bill amends the new state smokefree law to add an exemption to allow smoking in cigar bars and in outdoor seating areas of restaurants that are at least 20 feet away from an entrance, exit, or window of the restaurant. Cigar bars are defined as "walk-in humidors"with certain ventilation equipment, which raises a concern that any bar or restaurant may be able to claim that it is, or has an area that is, a cigar bar.
