Doyle calls on Legislature to pass smoking ban, autism coverage

Governor Doyle is trying to turn up the heat on a statewide smoking ban and insurance coverage for autism during news conferences in Madison, South Milwaukee and Oneida today.

Doyle says there's enough support to pass bills on both issues during the Legislature's special session next week. After that, the Legislature is off until January 15th...

Doyle is also calling for quick action on the smoking ban, saying both Illinois and Minnesota have passed similar laws. The governor says if Wisconsin does nothing, it could become the "ashtray of the upper Midwest."
