North Iowa Council Votes On Future Smoking Laws

An area city council votes on future smoking laws. The Mason City City Council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution supporting the state giving local governments control of smoking laws.

City Administrator Brent Trout says the state legislature is asking several communities to vote on whether they support individual city smoking bans. He says this would allow cities to decide their own rules regarding smoking instead of waiting for the state.
