The state of Wyoming needs to do more to protect it's citizens from the effects of second hand smoke. That's the message in a new report out Thursday...

It's one of the leading causes of respiratory health problems in America, and now Wyoming health officials want to do something to reduce the risk of second hand smoke.

In an effort to help, the University of Wyoming and Wyoming Department of Health have issued a new report outlining two major steps the state can take to protect residents.

A state wide smoking ban failed to advance in the legislature this year.

But heath officials say the Joint Labor Heath and Social Services Committee will discuss bringing the ban back for the 2009 session at their meeting coming up on September 16th.
