There'll be no vote in a House committee Wednesday on a bill to ban smoking in Michigan bars, restaurants and all work places.

Rep. Bert Johnson, D-Detroit, chairman of the House Regulatory and Reform Committee, said the committee will only take testimony on a smoking ban beginning at noon.

Johnson said Monday he planned to hold a committee vote on a proposal. But he said today a vote has been postponed until after the Legislature's two-week Easter recess.
