Legislative Summary

HB1321 - (e-cigarette use allowed in bars) - An Act relating to smoking - Introduced and Passed First Reading - Did not meet crossover deadline

This bill amends the smokefree law to restrict the use of e-cigarettes in many workplaces and public places that are covered by the smokefree law, but their use would be permitted in bars and nightclubs, tobacco retail stores, private residences not used for child care or health care, and hotel rooms and motel rooms. Currently e-cigarettes are not addressed in the law, but this bill would create an explicit exemption for them in these stated venues.
