SB0932—(partial preemption repeal)—An Act relative to local regulation of products containing nicotine—Passed and Re-referred to Senate Commerce & Labor Committee

This bill partially restores local control to permit local authorities to regulate the use of tobacco products in public places, places of employment, and parks. However, local authorities cannot prohibit smoking in places exempt from the Tennessee Non-Smoker Protection Act, including age-restricted venues, hotel/motel rooms, tobacco businesses, non-enclosed areas of public places, nursing homes, businesses with three or fewer employees, and private clubs.
