EDITORIAL: Please respect voters' wish on smoke ban

A proposal by Sen. Pat Bourne of Omaha that would strike down the smoking ban in Lincoln is an insult to the people who voted by a majority of 62 percent to put it into effect.

The legislative bill Bourne introduced ought to be snuffed out in short order.

Bourne said he introduced the bill because Omaha restaurant and bar owners are concerned that a proposed citywide ban in the state's largest city could hurt business.

What Bourne ought to be more concerned about is the health of his constituents...
