Finally, someone has cleared the air in the debate over smoking in public places.

Secondhand smoke in bars, restaurants, casinos and other public places isn't just an aesthetic issue. It probably isn't even a major health issue for most patrons, unless they eat out in smoky places an awful lot. It certainly isn't only an issue of smokers' individual rights. . . .

Atlantic City's casinos and their smoking customers will survive the change. And casino employees, who will work in a healthier, safer environment, may feel much better about going to work every day.
