BISMARCK - Bars won't have to go smoke-free two years from now - or ever - under an amendment added to the Legislature's smoke-free workplace bill on Tuesday.

Senate Bill 2300 as passed by the Senate exempted bars from a statewide ban on workplace smoking, but only until 2007...

But on Tuesday, the House Human Services Committee removed the 2007 "sunset" on the bar's exemption and broadened the description of bars that are exempt.
