A House of Delegates committee endorsed legislation this morning that would prohibit restaurants from allowing smoking unless they post signs at all public entrances indicating that smoking is permitted. The legislation also would eliminate a requirement that restaurants have non-smoking areas.

The House General Laws Committee approved House Bill 2422 on a voice vote, sending it to the full House for consideration.
