A New Jersey State Senate Committee has unanimously approved a measure which would require Atlantic City casinos to go smoke-free.

This bill closes a loophole in New Jersey’s Clean Air Act which bans smoking in just about every indoor public place except the casinos.

After originally trying to impose a complete smoking ban, the Atlantic City Council recently enacted a measure imposing a partial smoking ban, allowing smoking on 25 percent of the casino floor.
