Texas House to hear smoking ban testimony

The Texas House of Representatives will take public comment on a proposed statewide smoking ban Tuesday.

The ban would make it illegal to smoke in any public place or place of employment...

San Antonio Metro Health supports the ban, saying restrictions such as the ones already in San Antonio don't do enough.

"People who work in those environments are still at risk even in an indoor environment. They can be exposed to second-hand smoke, which we know can cause problems," said Dr. Bryan Alsip of Metro Health.
