There are several Jackson restaurants that Stephanie Brown just won't go to, and it has nothing to do with what's on the menu.

Brown and her family dine only at restaurants that are smoke free.

Her 3-year-old son, Will, was born with asthma-like symptoms and is especially sensitive to second-hand smoke.

Brown and her son were among nearly 40 supporters who turned out Monday afternoon at the Old Country Store for a rally urging passage of Gov. Phil Bredesen's smoke-free workplace legislation.

Old Country Store became smoke free Jan. 1.

"We think it boosts business by drawing customers who want to enjoy eating out without risking their health," owner Clark Shaw said.
