The time has come to clean the air of the toxic effects of smoking in public spaces and work environments in Alabama. An Alabama Senate bill (SB 155) sponsored by Sen. Figures of Mobile aims to end the disparity of local ordinances that have attempted, with varying success, to reduce secondhand smoke by enforcing a statewide ban on smoking in public spaces...

The Alabama Tobacco Quitline (Statewide toll-free number, 1-800-QUIT-NOW) is a statewide telephone-based tobacco cessation service. This service offers counseling to all Alabamians who need assistance quitting cigarettes and chewing tobacco as well as self-help materials, referrals to local programs and discount coupons for nicotine replacement products.

Please join us in support of this bill by encouraging your state legislators to vote in support of keeping our public and work space air clean and healthy. In doing so, we will take a critical step that will serve to improve Alabama's health for generations to come.
