Smoking Ban One Step Closer To Being In Effect

A statewide workplace smoking ban is now on the way to the governor. Lawmakers voted down the ban, year after year, in tobacco friendly Tennessee.

But Thursday, they changed course for the health of all.

It’s a new era for the Volunteer State. Pretty soon, you won't be able to light up after brunch at Shoney’s, or while you enjoy that cup of coffee at the Waffle House.

State lawmakers passed a sweeping smoking ban for most restaurants, but there are still places you can light up.
