This bill prohibits smoking in all indoor public places and places of employment, including restaurants, bars, and gaming facilities. Prior amendments to allow communities to opt-out of the provisions and to preempt local communities were removed prior to the bills final passage.

EXEMPTIONS: Smoking is allowed in private residences, except when used as a childcare, adult day care, or health care facility; 20% of contiguous hotel/motel rooms; areas of a laboratory used as part of a research study on the health effects of smoking; and tobacco retail stores.
