Two West Virginia senators have introduced legislation to make the entire state smoke-free.

Senate Bill 209 was introduced last Friday by state senators Dan Foster and Evan Jenkins.

Local health officials said the bill, also called the Smoke Free West Virginia Act, could be the beginning of a uniform ban for the whole state.

As it is written, the bill would apply a strict smoking ban to the entire state and would override the ban now in place in Ohio County, meaning even casinos and video lottery rooms would have to go smoke-free.
