Legislative Summary

SB1382 - (exempts restaurants) - A bill relating to smoking in restaurants - Session Adjourned

This bill amends state code regarding camp grounds and county food and beverage taxes to purportedly prohibit smoking in some restaurants. However, this extremely weak bill technically does not prohibit smoking in any restaurants at all. The bill permits smoking in numerous types of restaurants, including in designated bar areas and smoking rooms, and goes on to exempt any restaurant defined as a restaurant within a bill.
