All workplaces, restaurants, and bars in Washington, D.C. are 100% smokefree. Workplaces went smokefree on April 3, 2006, and restaurants and bars went smokefree on January 1, 2007. Read Washington, D.C.'s smokefree law. In 2013, the Washington DC Council enacted a law that prohibits smoking within 25 feet of city parks and playgrounds, and at bus stops.
